UP3216Q, XPS 15 9550 HDMI out, Cannot get 3840x2160 60Hz?

I just received this ULTRA EXPENSIVE monitor, 2500 + tax from Dell, which claimed superior quality!

Installed drivers and right from the get go, I cannot get maximum resolution with 60Hz refresh rate. The screen is extremely slow.

I have the new Dell XPS 15 9550 laptop, which is hooked up through HDMI 2.0. Everything "works" except I can only get 60 Hz @ 2048x1152, but as soon as I choose 3840x2160 I get only 30Hz maximum. What gives? I have a cheap UHD 4K monitor I bought for under 1000 which can do max resolution @ 60hz...

If that's the best this thing can do, it's gotta go back! 2500 bucks for 30HZ?

Using Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit. If anyone can help that would be great! This can't be right... I'm hooked up directly to the monitor from my laptop, I do not have the TB15 docking station because it's still not available in Canada, but I'm not sure that would even help.

My Latitude E7240 has the same issue. But it is because the HDMI out on the Latitude E7240 is version 1.4a. The reviews I am finding state that the XPS 15 9550 HDMI out is only version 1.4a, not 2.0.

Are you saying that using the XPS 15 9550 HDMI out, you achieved 3840x2160 60Hz on the other UHD 4K monitor?

I just wanted to report in about what I have done.

I purchased the USB-C to DisplayPort cable from Google Store for 50 bucks. This worked instantly, and 60Hz at full resolution was achieved!

Thank you so much.

I would have never guessed that this new laptop model would have only hdmi 1.4!!!

I'm actually shocked.

But at least this answers the biggest question, it's not the monitor, it's the laptop.

I ordered a usb-c to displayport cable from Google. That should do the trick!

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to me!! It's very much appreciated.
