Using analog & digital connection on two different PC's -w/ message body

I have a regular office PC with an analog video hook up (standard) as well as a high-tech audio only PC, which has a digital monitor connection. It appears to me that you can hook up this monitor to both an analog and a digital connection (2 PC's) and use the front button to select the source. Has anyone tried that?
