Was there an update o1 to the 2408WFP monitor?

I am about to buy a new 24" monitor and I have read most of the forum on the 2408WFP in which poeple have mention many problems in light bleeding, dead pixels and color problems etc...

These talks were back in April and I was wondering if Dell has corrected their problems and their quality control on this monitor.

I am planning to buy my LCD in a few days and was holding back for Dell.

So if Dell people has something to say about it or someone with good results with their 2408wfp purchase, please let me know .

There is a new A01 firmware version of the 2408WFP. I assume that's what Dell is shipping  now.    I got an  A00 version in early August.  It has no problems--works and looks awesome.

My A00 had the left side brighter issue so I returned it waiting for a A01.

I am wondering if A01 solved this prevalent problem?

If you look at your A00 on a dark gray background you will notice that theleft side of the screen is noticably brighter. It's like a 2 inch wide vertical band of bright area from teh left margin in.  I think it is on all A00s.

Not on mine. I tried every solid color, light, medium and dark.  Only with a light gray and a lot of imagination could I maybe see a hint of non-uniformity.  :smileywink:

I think I'll keep it.

It is especially evident on this website: www.hardforum.com

The entire left side is a bit brighter and the white text wil look bolder on the left than on the right.

Can you try it and let me know if it is noticable?

I was contemplating a A01 but a bad expereince with A00 has be a bit concerned.

Went to your hardforum link... nothing at all unusual on my monitor.
