An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host...
I have a web server that has been having problems completing scheduled backup jobs. I tried running a manual save from the server and get the message "An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host."
Here is the last few lines of the save command results.
C:\save -b "Media Pool Name" -u
...
C:\WINDOWS\
C:\wmpub\wmiislog\
C:\wmpub\
C:\
/
save: C: 14 GB 02:09:41 45849 files
7167:save: save completion time: 9/8/2010 3:27:04 PM
7157:save: Error ending job: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
The client is a Windows 2003 SP1 server running NW 7.5.2. The NW server is Windows 2008 R2 (64-bit) also running 7.5.2.
Thansk,
Anthony

Have you checked for a firewall? Also have you tried to telnet to the client using 7937 first and then 7938 for the port. This would give us a clue to the issue.

Please provide client and server netstat outputs when this message occurs. The other question is what is the keepalive set at if it is set.

It's not a firewall issue since I'm able to run the save command and backup data. It's just when it gets to the end this error message is encountered.
