Backup freezes at same point
We have an issue where the backup of one particular saveset goes upto 20gb and then write speed suddenly drops to less than 100 kbps.
The backup freezes there with write speeds not crossing the 100kbps mark.
Even if we rerun it goes upto 20gb again and after that we face the same behaviour.
Thanks in advance

Its a linux server with only 2 savesets - /boot and /
/boot completes in no time. its the / saveset that hung on 20gb
the server admin ran an fsck on the filesystem yesterday and backup went through fine.
Currently under observation. Will let u know in case we run into the problem again.

Does the backup fails or just writes at 100kbps an completes fine?
If it fails, then there might be some timeout issue causing problem.
Let us know if it happens again.

No indication of what OS or FS /boot and / reside nor what version of NetWorker is running on the client. I'll suggest that the NetWorker client is hitting a sparse file somewhere in /
There was a fix in NW 7.6 to correct a regression related to the save of a sparse file never finishing.

This can happen for various reasons; here are two:
- you have stale mounting point (can be verified with df -hP on Linux box which will also hang)
- there is a read error/corruption on disk
If second, you will see it break at the same spot during full backups. If first, you will see it break no matter what level you run.
