Execute only is a file attribute that we used to use a lot long ago. It was kinda a copy protection to prevent users from copying all of our dos applications off of the server. The flag was only suppose to be one way, ie, once you flagged a file execute only you couldn't unflag it. This attribute is probably also preventing the backup software from backing it up (which is in fact making a copy). Someone did write a program (I think is was called xaway, or x-away) that would remove the flag, you could search for that. I know I had it but I don't see it in my normal file archives, but if you don't find it let me know and I'll look harder, might have it on a floppy somewhere...

Hi Lars, nice to see you again ;)

There is an article about those files on the BackupExec site:
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/236054.htm

Unfortunately, there is no description how to Backup those files. (They exclude them...)
