There is no such disadvantange in changing hostname and ipaddress of storage node.
Just IP address change wont effect much. You just need to update DNS server and hosts file entry.
If the host name is getting changed, then you should reconfigure storage node and devices on NetWorker.
Follow below steps,
1. Delete all devices from storage node.
Note: Incase if you have AFTD or Filetype device, copy the full path of the device before you delete it.
2. Delete storage node.
3. Rename the client resource for storage node (delete client and create client with new name keeping same client id).
4. Create storage node > run scan for devices > configure tape devices under storage node. Add AFTD and FTD.
Note: Dont label AFTD and FTD. Run scanner to get info back on media db.
IMP: Make a copy of res and mm directory before you do any configuration changes on NetWorker server. Also keep bootstrap backup tape handy.
