EBS 7.3.1 and SE5320 NDMP Backup with GUI

Hi!

One CU will backup with NDMP his SE5320.
We make test with GUI and CLI. What me wonder is, that the backup with GUI not work:

Test 1 with (GUI)
===============

09/20/06 16:34:04 nsrd: savegroup info: starting probe (with 1 client(s))

Ergebnis: kein Backup, sondern Fehlermeldungen in /nsr/logs/daemon.log

09/20/06 16:34:04 savegrp: command 'savefs -s vdtc-nsr -c nash-1 -g probe -p -l full -R -m -v ' for client nash-1 exited with return code 1.
09/20/06 16:34:04 savegrp: job (802) host: nash-1 savepoint: nash-1:All had ERROR indication(s) at completion.
* nash-1:All savefs: error, Cannot retrieve client resources
* nash-1:All savefs: nothing to save
* nash-1:All savefs nash-1: failed.
09/20/06 16:34:04 savegrp: nash-1:probe failed.

Test 2 with (GUI)
==============

09/20/06 17:12:17 nsrd: savegroup info: starting probe (with 1 client(s))

Ergebnis: kein Backup, wie Versuch 1

09/20/06 17:12:17 savegrp: nash-1:probe started
savefs -s vdtc-nsr -c nash-1 -g probe -p -l full -R -m -v 09/20/06 17:12:18 nsrd: savegroup info: probe running on nash-1
09/20/06 17:12:18 savegrp: command 'savefs -s vdtc-nsr -c nash-1 -g probe -p -l full -R -m -v ' for client nash-1 exited with return code 1.
09/20/06 17:12:18 savegrp: job (808) host: nash-1 savepoint: nash-1:All had ERROR indication(s) at completion.
* nash-1:All savefs: error, Cannot retrieve client resources
* nash-1:All savefs: nothing to save
* nash-1:All savefs nash-1: failed.

No entrys in ndmp-log on SE5320

On the SE5320 we have configure NDMP

--------------------

nash-1 > ndmp show debug.path
/p11/logs/ndmp.log

nash-1 > ndmp show debug.level
full
--------------------

Why with the EBS GUI the Backup works not?
We insert in the GUI the nsrndmp_save command.
But every time EBS run with savefs.

On SE5320 we have NAS version 4.12

Probably client configuration. You should contant your support to inspect how did you configure the client (eg. not specifying -T dump). At least that is how it looks like from what you have sent.

Hi ,
I think you just need to check the NDMP feature to enable NDMP backup!
