Error when trying to recover AIX 5.3 backup
Hello,
I am running Networker management console V8.2.1.1 I can successfully backup three AIX 5.3 servers but when I go to recover them I get the following error: Connecting to host failed. This host is either improperly configured or does not support this operation.
I am using the client version nw76sp5 for AIX. Does this client allow backups but not restores or am I missing something in the config?
Thanks for any help you may provide.

Try restarting client NetWorker services:
Confirm that the NetWorker Remote Exec daemon, nsrexecd is started:
ps -ef | grep nsr
If the nsrexecd daemon is not started, type:
/etc/rc.nsr
Stop the NetWorker daemons:
nsr_shutdown
Review the NetWorker daemon.raw log file on NetWorker client
– On UNIX, the log file appears in the /nsr/logs directory.
Review the hosts file entries on client and on Networker server
Restore client from Networker using command

Yes, sure. Interactive mode or by complete command with required options.

Hi,
Recover from Networker Management Console is only available with Clients running Networker 8.1 and later. This is the real problem.

Thanks for the info. So if a restore needs to be made, it will have to be via command line correct?
