Failed inventories

I have been having bad times with latest NW 7.3.x.

In the setup, Windows 2003 32 bit, NW 732 Jumbo 11. I have the problem for the last 15-20 days. IF I remove a cartridge form the Autoloader and run inventory for that slot, I get the errors:

05/08/07 19:51:07 nsrd: [Jukebox `juke', operation 7]. Initiated operation `operation: "Inventory"; operation device: "\\.\Tape0"; operation slots: "3-3"; operation task: "verify during inventory"; '.

' for the command `4'.

In these messages, it had shown the that the slot is empty which is correct but then it ends up with RED signal in operations, error in logs and continues to show the tape in the slot.

Any clues please.

How do you remove cartdrige? With NW? If not, he is complaining about the newly discovered state. You should run reset and not inventory after such action.

Normally, if you remove a cartridge and want to leave the slot empty-it should get this noticed when you run inventory for this slot.

Normally when you remove cartridge not using NW you should run reset. Inventory has changed in 7.3.x and it depends what switches you use. Nevertheless, you should reset library afterwards or use NW to remove tapes.
