Hello,
We use VmWare Consolidated Backup Framework, however vRanger works very well.
I scripted VCB so what it does is;
1) Write the VCB to disk
2) Run the save.exe command (windows) against the folder that the VCB wrote to.
A little more goes into it then this, but hopefully it gets the point across.

Para, the solution all depends on ur environment and the powerlink documentation is pretty detailed, the solution will depend on things such as location of guest o/s data, i.e. san, lan, so configure vcb using Hot-add, NBD or SAN, On whether the proxy server is a physical or virtual, are there any RDM's...
but basically....
create a networker client definition for the VCB Proxy server, ensure application information for the client definition has the correct VCB params...(i.e. VCB_TRANSPORT_MODE=hotadd)
create a networker client definition for the VCB Helper vm
create the vm guest client definitions, ensuring VCB backup is ticked, proxy server is noted and the backup command is "nsrvcb_save", ensure the proxy server is listed in remote access.
i may be not mentioned everything, but that is the basic funcitonality and necessary config.
