How move \nsr\tmp dir to another partition?

Hi,

I want to move/re-direct the \nsr\tmp directory to another partition to prevent a space shortage during the NDMP backups.

How can I do this? (where I have to tell the NW the new path?)

I searched within thw manuals without a result...

Thanks in advance.

regards

Michael

I would try windows junction points. I use this for nsr\index with success since one year. Just link like a unix soft link the second volume to the nsr\tmp directory.

You can change the temporary directory used for NDMP backups by setting the following variable: -

To change the location of the temporary space directory, provide a valid directory

name as a value to the NSR_NDMP_TMP_DIR variable:

1. Change the application information in the Client window.

2. Set an environment variable.

This change moves the creation of the temporary files to that directory.

What do you mean exactly with "1. Change the application information in the Client window."?

Which parameter must be set in the application information?

Within the client definition in NetWorker you will have various variables set within the Application information (like HIST=Y, UPDATE=Y), add the Variable and file system where there is plenty of space and the temporary files will be created there instead of /nsr/tmp.
