How to Backup 2008 Active Directory
Hi,
We have 2 Active Directory servers and i want to take a scheduled backup of both the servers. Please let me know how should we configure the same ? I am using NW 7.6.2 .

Hi Pratik,
My suggestion would be to go for NMM 2.3, as this offers you both, full (DR) backups for AD and also granular backups, which allows you to restore a single object within AD.
There was a recent threat about configuring NMM for AD backups.

Hello Pratik,
Active Directory (AD) is the Windows directory service and the foundation for the Windows Distributed File System and AD is a component of the Windows system state on Windows Server 2008 and 2003 domain controllers.
The NetWorker software automatically backs up AD as a component of the SYSTEM STATE or VSS SYSTEM BOOT save set.

Hi Vishwanath,
So u mean to say, i need to select savesets as VSS SYSTEM BOOT and VSS SYSTEM FILESET ?
