we have some big HyperV servers. They are backed up with NMM 220.127.116.11.280.
On one HV server always the same guest vm fails. We only get an generic error message: The code is: 0x800423f3.
There are no messages in the eventlogs of HV server or guest. The HV server was already rebooted.
What could be the reason why the VM backup fails?
so no Need to search external Forums 🙂
If you say really big, is there a timeframe you can see from taking first VM into Backup / Checkpoint to the last ? there is a Default VSS timeout of 30 Minutes.
Aso check if latest Version of Integration Utils as well as a Virtuals SCSI HBA are present ! ( needed inside vm for guest Level )
otherwise, chck nmmraw and applog for more Details !
... and if you go for support ticket, they will probably have you test it with 18.104.22.168 so you may wish to do that yourself before (latest, greatest and safest) - note your client needs to be 22.214.171.124+ for that release.
