1. It does not matter what type of hardware you use - NW just needs a directory to point at
2. Sure you can stage from any to any media (even within the same pool, if necessary).

Install networker storage node software on the Linux machine then go through the process of adding a new device in the networker console. You will just need to put in the directory with creds to connect.

Thank you.
One more query does that JBOD/SAN disk/NAS disk need to be connected directly to data domain.
Basically how the data will flow:
(JBOD)disk storage -->Storage node --> data domain
or
NAS storage---> data domain

Hi
The date will flow as per the first option (you do NOT need to connect the JBOD with the Data Domain)
(JBOD)disk storage -->Storage node --> data domain
Storage Node will control the full process (read from JBOD and write to Data Domain) based on staging policy you define in networker.

I wonder how you can 'connect' the JBOD to a Data Domain but in this case it would not help as the JBOD does not 'speak' DD code - that' why you must use a Storage Node in between as 'translator'.

Hi Mohammad ,
Can NFS device connected/configured as AFTD device. And what is the authentication it is asking for ?
In our case :
Stroage Nodes: Windows 2012 physical servers
NAS NFS drives - from NFS
