Multiple client instances + Failed Scheduled Jobs

Hello and thank you for any assistance.

I have a system that was on a scheduled backup that always worked (Windows Server 2003 7.4.2). We virtualized the system and now the scheduled backups fail with a "Probe job had unrecoverable failures". I can run a backup manually from the virtualized system (ServerA) successfully, however the scheduled backups that are run from backupserver fail. Here is a log of a manually run backup on ServerA.

Backing up files of client 'ServerA' to server 'backupserver'.
57777:backup: Multiple client instances of ServerA, using the first entry
C:\Data\Report4.rpt
C:\Data\report4.xls
C:\Data\
C:\
/

backup: C:\Data 215 KB 00:02:49 5 files
7167:backup: backup completion time: 10/23/2008 12:59:02 PM

Can someone please offer some assistance?

Thank you!

Check for the Aliases field in the client resource and the server network interface. Aliases should have IP, HN & Fqdn for the client and SNI should have IP or HN for the srver. Basically you are not able to contact the client from the server while taking the backup.

Does you changed the hostname and the IP of the server after the client installation.

I resolved the issue by adding the fqdn, IP, and dn of the backupserver to the servers file on the client.

Thank you all for your help!
