NMDA for Oracle steps help

Hi,

Been using NMO for a long time now, but now have to use NMDA for Oracle and thus need help with steps to configure it.

Current Networker server : OS-Solaris 10 with Networker 7.6.2

Oracle: OS-AIX6.1 with Oracle RAC 11g R2

Storage node with two virtual tape drives from DD system.

NMC wizard configurations isnt working.

I followed the admin guide but got this error while trying to initiate a schedule backup.

'the parameter file cannot be opened:/nsr/apps/nmda_oracle.cfg"

I made a copy of this file in /tmp and had configured the parameters under /tmp and put the backup command "nsrdasv -z /tmp/nmda_oracle.cfg"

Any help and suggestions are appreciated.

My advice - quit wizard and do it manually - you will get better understanding of the product.

With that said, 'the parameter file cannot be opened:/nsr/apps/nmda_oracle.cfg" sounds right since location is /nsr/apps/config folder by default.  I would suggest to make copy of the file for instance you use and then use that one in backup command.

Since you use AIX and DD, you may see beneficial of using NMDA 1.5 in case you use DDBoost.
