NW 8.0 - Storage node not ready when doing tape inventory

Hello all

OS: Windows 2008 R2 x64

NW: 8.0

Tape libraries:

1 Physical Dell with 3 IBM LTO-3 drives

2 VTLs emulating Scalar i40/i80 with LTO-3 drives

Problem:

When trying to do a tape inventory the result is sometimes ok when trying 1 or 2 tapes.

When trying to do more than 2 tapes at once the result is always failed.

The error message is: Storage node 'hostname' is not ready

The behaviour is the same on all libraries.

Have enabled peristent naming in the registry, rebooted and re-added all 3 libraries.

Any ideas ?

Have resgistered a SR but they are slow to respond.

Thanks

Hello

Sorry for not updating this thread until now.

The issue is as you say a known bug in 8.0.0.1

I upgraded to 8.0.0.3 and the problem was solved.

Thanks

Hi,

You should try doing this from the command line in verbose mode to try to get a more coherent error message:  nsrjb -Ivvvv.  Also have a look through this document which will help you identify if there are any hardware and/or connection issues.

Hi Eivind,

I think this could be related with a known issue.

Are you finding any core in the storage nodes for nsrsnmd?

If so I would suggest you to open a case with support and request the fix for NW141817

Thank you.

Carlos.
