Networker 7.6.5 to 18.2 upgrade

I have a linux server with networker 7.6.5, the plan is to use new hardware install RHEL76 and networker 18.2. What is the recommended path for this?

I am thinking on upgrading the existing system to 18.2 first, then taking a backup and doing a disaster recovery on the new hardware running networker 18.2 is the best way to do this. Any thoughts/advise? is the direct upgrade from 7.6.5 to 18.2 possible?

I would suggest you to do the migration first and then the upgrade, this was you will always have your original server to fall back to in case of any issues.

Regarding the upgrade, you cannot be a direct upgrade from 7.6 to 18.2. You will need to intermediately upgrade to 8.2 and then you can upgrade the version 18.2. I suggest you download the procedure generator tool from EMC  - Solve to get the correct step by step process to carry out the upgrade.

You should either look at the Installation Guide or the Solve Online support

https://solveonline.emc.com/solve/home

search for 'networker'

AFAIK the 'Procedure Generator' has been replaced by 'Solve'.
