Networker Encryption - Is it FIPS 140-2 Compliant
Can anyone help point me in the right direction. I'm using Networker 7.6.1 and have enabled the AES Encryption, but I was asked to find out if it's FIPS 140-2 certified. I ran across this website (http://csrc.nist.gov/groups/STM/cmvp/documents/140-1/140val-all.htm) but couldn't find EMC's product line of Networker.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The answer is that NetWorker is "not compliant".
The underlying RSA BSAFE SSL libraries are FIPS 140-2 validated but the API usage by NetWorker is not FIPS 140-2 compliant. This is planned for a future release.
Also, NetWorker itself will not be listed in the list of certified cryptographic modules. NetWorker will use FIPS 104-2 certified cryptographic libraries (BSAFE) in a FIPS compliant mode but NetWorker itself is not a cryptographic module. It is an application that uses such technology.
