Networker features
Hello,
There is a backup server running Networker and a library in a datacenter, I am looking for the best solution to backup
data from 2 servers on a different site linked by a 100Mbps network.
Doe's Networker have features like Asynchronous replication ? or remote backup to store data in a second (small) library
located in the remote site ? or something else .. What do you think is best solution ?

Consty, you could as Peter suggests backup the servers to the NetWorker server and its library on the main site over the 100Mb network. This would give max throughput of around 10MB/s and therefore depending upon your data sizes may or maynot be feasible. You could also attach a small library to one or both of the other clients and make them storage nodes which would mean the data ts secured locally and never touches the network. (Metadata and initial communication, drive polling etc would flow over the inter site connection of 100Mb). You may also be able to make one client a storage node and direct the other client to it if the network links are better between the two remote sites.
Adding a storage node/s has license implications, as does replication etc. You would also have to manage the remote tapes (if they required to be changed or taken offsite), but all of the above have pro's and cons depending upon which area you approach. As long as the data is not too large a network backup could be fine. If the volumes are large then I would suggest the Storage node route. Replication gives you an offsite copy of the data also.......

For asynchronous replication, you might want to look at the EMC Replistor product. As regards NetWorker, you can backup to tape and then clone these backups to the remote site. You can clone either directly after the initial backup or schedule the clone operation for anytime that suits you best.

if the networker server is in one of the sites then back it up using the 100MBit network. what is the problem?
