Persistent naming with Windows 2008 R2 native drivers
Hello,
I have activated persistent naming as recommended in "Configuring Tape Devices for EMC NetWorker Technical Note". After activation I got device names like
Tape2147483646. For better clarity in administration of devices I prefer short device names like Tape0.
For IBM drivers I found a thread in EMC community network (Can anyone help with this error) how to change the persistent device name. On my Windows 2008 R2 storage nodes, where I use the native drivers for LTO tape drives, I didn't find a way to customize the device name.
Does anyone know how to change the persistent device name, when using the native Windows 2008 R2 drivers?
My networker landscape:
Networker Server: Windows 2003 R2 latest SP with Networker 7.6.5.1
Storage Nodes: Windows 2003 R2 latest SP with Networker 7.6.5.1
Windows 2008 R2 latest SP with Networker 7.6.5.1
Tape Library: Quantum Scalar i500 with IBM LTO4 tape drives

Hi,
I have tested the settings. For me they worked as described. Thanks for your help.
