Problems with NMM against Exchange
Hi folks,
We are trying to backup MSExchange 2010 Servers and always have the same error on all 3 servers. As far as I understand the problem on VSS. Could you please explain how to fix it. It shoud be active but every time it is aborted due to inactivity. What should I check, ports, group/client settings?
All servers have the same conf and OS: Win2K3, NW 7.6.5, v2.5.1_NMM2.3_drop18.Build.61, MS Exchange Writer
NSR_SNAP_TYPE=vss
NSR_EXCH_CHECK=no
NSR_ALT_PATH=C:\Snap_mnt
52051:nsrsnap:Printing savecmd=nsrsnap_vss_save after parsing
79549:nsrsnap:[nsrsnap.c 1891] Invoking command: "nsrsnap_vss_save -A optype=conventional -A "NSR_SNAP_TYPE=vss" -A "NSR_EXCH_CHECK=no" -A "NSR_ALT_PATH=C:\Snap_mnt" -A NSR_PARENT_JOBID=6050085 -c clnt.dmn -g "MSExch_FA" -LL -m clnt.dmn -s srv.dmn -l full -q -W 78 -A snap_sessionid=1415912036 "APPLICATIONS:\Microsoft Exchange Writer
- clnt.dmn aborted due to inactivity
Thank you very much for your time

No, I have Inactivity Timeout=30.Fixed. Now I see, but as far as I understand I need to check VSS performance because 30 min without any activity looks very strange.

Hi Godzy,
Setting all those values to 0 is required as this will prevent savegrp to timeout while VSS is creating and mounting the snapshot, so please give it a try and let us know.
Thank you,
Carlos

Hello godzy
Did you have the chance to perform the test? If so, how did it go?
Thank you,
Carlos
