Restoring backups with a newer product version
Hello everyone,
I searched the forums a bit but could not figure out the answer to this: I have a server which still runs Networker version 7.5, I need to find out if I can restore the backups taken there on a different server, which runs a much newer version of Networker, 8.1.
Both servers have the same type of tape drive (stand-alone LTO-5)

There should not be any problem restoring data on older or newer version of NetWorker.
Follow normal index rebuild procedure and you should be able to restore the data back.
What data is it? Is it any specific networker module data?

Hello,
Thanks for the answer!
The files themselves are just flat files, no Database or Operating system files. The only thing of notice about the backups is that I need to encrypt them with the AES encryption module.
