Single mailbox restore in NW 7.6

Hi All

I am at the intial implementation stage of the Networker to backup and restore the MS exchange 2007.Is there any way we can restore a single mailbox in MS exchange 2007. I have gone through the Networker Module for Microsoft Exchange Server admin guide where it suggest us to create the RSG,then restore the IS and then we can browse. I just wonder if if there is any way to restore the mailbox faster, coz restoring the whole IS (i.e around 100 GB) will take log time if i want to restore a single PST with size of 50 MB.

Hi,

In the saveset configure MSEXCH:MB for best performance some customers configure MSEXCH:MB/A*, MSEXCH:MB/B* and grow parallelism....
MSEXCH:MB - All private mailboxes
MSEXCH:MB/mailbox - A specific private mailbox

Configure in backup command "nsrxchmbsv -G"

Command option -G: Indicates an Item Level mailbox granularity setting for the mailbox (brick-level) backup. The Item Level setting allows for the recovery of individual mailbox items. This option provides finer granularity, but results in larger client file indexes on the NetWorker server. If -G is unspecified, the default Folder Level setting is used. This setting allows for the recovery of mailbox items at the folder level only. The result is smaller client file indexes, which greatly enhances the performance of the NetWorker server at recovery time.

Microsoft does not support brick level backups of mailboxes in EXCH 2007.  So if you wish to go down that road, it's your call.

I believe NMM has option for restore if single mailbox through storage group - check it out.
