Updating NW client from 7.3.3 to 7.4.4

I have been going around with this issue, and I'd like to send out some feelers into the NW crowd.  I am running 7.4.4 on my NW server.  The client in question is a Windows 2000 SP 5 running client v7.3.3.  Here are my issues:

- I uninstall v7.3.3 through the "setup.exe", and uncheck Remove Metadata. The uninstall is successful w/out errors. I search through the registry and delete any leftover "Legato" items.

- I attempt to install client v7.4.4, and I receive a message that an error was discovered during installation and nothing was configured.

- I re-install v7.3.3 w/out errors.  Backups perform as advertised.

- I uninstall v7.3.3, and run the MSIEXEC from the command line while attempting to install v7.4.4.  The following is from the log:

MSI (c) (F8:40) [14:01:03:975]: PROPERTY CHANGE: Adding NW_FIREWALL_CONFIG property. Its value is '0'.
    MSI (c) (F8:40) [14:01:03:975]: Doing action: NwFirewallOK

Has anyone ever heard of this "NwFirewall"?  Does Windows 2000 even have internal firewalls?  Just looking for some extra help from the NetWorker World.

It looks as if it fails during firewall action.  I do not remember win2k had that, but only 2003 (I could be wrong).  Perhaps installer is a bit confused or it finds some 3rd party firewall which is is driving it crazy.  Do you have any AV or similar program running?  Perhaps idea would be to disable all services except those necessary to run system just to exclude any 3rd party involvement?

Many thanks for your reply. I performed a webex/conference call with EMC support and Microsoft support. We performed an "msiecec" command with the /quiet switch. It installed 7.4.4 on this server with no errors. All backups of this 2000 server have been successful with 7.4.4.
