I don't use NW8 yet, but rather 7.6.4.x with DDOS 5.1.x and NMSQL 5.2.1. You will need to check compatibility between NW versions (ddboost library) and DDOS, but if you plan to stil with NW8 then you should use most likely either 5.1.x or 5.2.1 which is GA now. As for SQL, I have bunch of them and no issue, but different NW versions of yours and most likely different module version (I assume you will go with NMM 2.4).

Hi Deepu,
I don't see any problem at all in the environment you mention.
I would agree though to go for a higher DDOS version as Hrvoje suggested, 5.1.x should be at least the minimum option suggested but, apart from that no other issue at sight.
Will you be using NMM? in that case you can run DFA or configure the SQL server as storage node or dedicated storage node, which will give you a better throughput and best RTO times.
With NMSQL same thing, no much changes since NMM 2.4 includes now the SQL VDI option as well (basically kind of embedded NMSQL in NMM), so you should be fine.
Thank you.
Carlos.

One issue I ran into with NW7.6.4, NMSQL module and DD Boost 5.x was that the SQL client had to be configured WITHOUT checking the box for Data Domain backup. As soon as I checked that box, backups failed.

That's understandable - only NMSQL which is now part of NMM (2.4) supports DDBoost so if you instruct previous versions and server prepares backup command in such way - it will fail.

Hi Zguy28,
As Hrvoje said no modules previous to NMM support Data Domain backup so, if you check the box for Data Domain backup it will fails, as you have already seen.
Basically the command passed to the binary (nsrsqlsv.exe or nsrexchsv.exe, for example) don't have those flags configured, so the failure will report a wrong usage of the command, in this case nsrsqlsv.exe.
Thank you.
Carlos.
