backup failing only on (/) RPC send operation failed; peer = 10.47.18.3:8000, errno = Brok
Hello ,
I got this error message :
76677:save: RPC send operation failed; peer = 10.47.18.3:8000, errno = Broken pipe
174918:save: Step (6 of 6) for PID-17635: Unable to complete the backup. See the savegrp log to track the closure steps of the backup.
141414:save: The connection to the NetWorker server or storage node was lost before the save operation completed: Broken pipe
the backup server is windows server , the client is linux distribution .
It is only failing for root save set ( "/")
Other save sets are backed up successfully.
Do you have any ideas ?

You got the answer already with the last statement - there obviously appeared a (temporary) disconnection during the backup.
What is the result of a retry?

Hello ,
after a retry , it is always failing with same eror message.

If the problem still re-occurs with the same message, I guess that there is a 'network related problem'. It looks like the connection is cut after a certain period of time ... for whatever reason.
If / is the largest save set/file system all other may have ended successfully already before the time expired.
