Addition of New core switch in the network
Hi everyone,
I am going to implement the VLT design for my core switches. For Distribution switches, it is already working with VLT peer 1 and 2 [OS 4148 ON switches].
My existing core switches are Dell N series switches with stacking. What I want to do is I want to run the existing switches until I replace with the new ones and connect the new switches in parallel such that service is not disrupted. Can I configure the new ones with the same IP and Routing which the existing switch is running and I want to disconnect and connect the services one by one.
Can anyone recommend the best way to do it, I would appreciate any help and suggestion.

Hi, Thank you for your prompt reply.
I am going to replace Dell N4064 Switches (Currently in Stack) with Dellx4148FE-ON switches (will be in VLT).

This is not going to be an easy transition because N4000 series use DNOS6 and the S4148 series uses DNOS 10. Version 6 is built around MLAG and not VLT.

That's right.
But I have already done for Distribution Switch.
What I want to achieve is I want to keep N4000 series core cluster keep running and add VLT cluster on the network such that I want to transfer one service at a time.
After all the connections and services transferred, I want to take N4000 series out of the rack and RIP them making the complete replacement.
Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Replace them and setup VLT on the new switches.

But my point is the current service should be running with existing core, the service shouldn't be disrupted.
