Cannot use keyboard on serial connection to Dell S4112T-ON switch
I can restart the switch and see the boot up sequence, but the keyboard doesn't work at all. I've tried enter, backspace and letters.
115200, N81 are my settings. I've tried setting terminal type to ANSI and VT100.
I've also tried different serial cables.
I've tried several Linux hosts (Redhat 7.4) using minicom but I get the same behaviour.
Any clues on how I can troubleshoot this?

Hi,
Has the switch been configured previously or is it a new install?

Also, I am not getting link indicators on the RJ45 port on the switch. I'll try with a traditional sky blue Cisco rollover cable and reply with results.

The rollover pin-out from DB9 to RJ45 is:

I was able to resolve the problem. I tried connecting to a different Dell switch and got the same behaviour. So instead of a Linux host (since I tried several of them), all with minicom 2.6.2-5, I installed mobaxterm on a windows 2016 host. Display and keyboard work without an issue. Note also that I'm using an Avocent KVM but I don't think that relevant since the issue occurred with a keyboard directly connected to the linux host I was trying it from.
