Connecting PowerConnect 2824 to home modem

I have a small business I run out of the house.  I want to connect my PowerConnect 2824 to the cable modem.  Previously with small Netgear modems, it was just plug them in, but the 2824 doesn't work.

The Cisco cable modem's IP address is 192.168.0.1 and has 4 ports on it.

I've set the 2824 to 192.168.3.1 and connected port 23 on the 2824 to port 4 on the Cisco.

I can access the 2824 by both web interface and serial port.

How can I configure these two devices to let me access the internet via the 2824?

Thanks in advance.

Is the subnet mask 255.255.255.0? If so then you have placed the 2824 into a different subnet from the modem. If this is intentional and you are using VLANs, please include more details about your network and intended config. If not then try changing the 2824 IP address to 192.168.0.x address.
