Console Password
I went through the initial setup on a 5324 switch and set the console password. I now wish to set it up so it does not require a password. Is there a way to do this without losing my whole configuration?
Also, when authentication fails the console tells me to "hit any key". When I hit any key it just says "hit any key" again. Is there any way to break out of this loop so I can have another chance to input a password?
Thanks

If the authentication is mis-configured and you cannot log into the switch, you will need to use the Password Recovery option.
console(config)# line console
console(config-line)# login authentication defualt

1. Rebooting with password recovery and the commands you specified and it didn't seem to work. I may be missing something.
2. I tried logging in the issue the no login authentication ... and no password commands. When I reboot it says "authentication failed" "hit any key".
I then copy my backup start-config file from my tftp server to get back to my original config. All I want to do is remove the requirement for the console password. I'm probably missing something , my experience is limited on these switches.
UPDATE: I may have stumbled on the explanation. If you use the "aaa authentication login default line" command with "line telnet" to set a password for a telnet session, does the operating system then require you to set a password for the console?
Thank you

Hi.
Go to line console
type: no password
enable uathentication default
login authentication default
If you have configured enable password you will be promted any way to enter it even you connected through the console
