Dell 6224 CX4 how to connect?
So I have the XFP module and the CX4 stacking module. From what I understand I can use the CX4 stacking module (reconfigure it if needed) to connect to my other 10GB network devices. I'm just not sure how to do it since my other devices are SFP+. Would I need a CX4 to SFP+ cable/adapter? So far I haven't really had luck. Or just need the CX4 transceivers with LC connectors? Sorry for the noob questions.

Other than what Daniel said, the only other option would be to install an SFP+ module into one of the expansion slots. Page 16 of this document (http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/extras/m/white_papers/20179394 ) provides information on all available expansion modules for the Powerconnect 62xx Series. It also discusses the Stack/Ethernet mode option. Hope this helps.

The stacking module may only be used in Bay 1. According to the Expansion Modules for Dell Networking Switches guide, page 16 only shows the 10GBase-T module installs in Bay 2 only, and the Stacking CX4 installs in Bay 1 only. I think this means that the Stacking CX4 module is only SUPPORTED in Bay 1, since you can convert it to a 10GE CX4, which then shows it may be installed in either port. There are no such stipulations mentioned for the remaining expansion modules (SFP+ or 10GE XFP).

Thank you for the answers, I am currently looking for a 3rd party cable. I did notice that the second bay (to the right) has a round metal peg on the bottom that did not allow the XFP module to be inserted (as it's base was missing the cutout that the stacking module had.
So my follow up question would be, is the 2nd (right) bay ONLY for the stacking module? Or will the SFP+ module have the cutout to allow it to work in the second bay?

Thank you for your time and knowledge! Unfortunately, the SFP+ modules are just too expensive. I ended up going a different route and picking up an HP A5800 with 4 SFP+ ports for less than half of what the Dell 2 port module would cost.
