Dell OS10 QinQ

I cannot find any information about QinQ support for Dell OS 10. Is there any way for OS10 to understand QinQ or is it simply not supported? If it is not supported, does anyone know whether it is on the roadmap?

Hello Christopher-deHaas,

QinQ will be release for 10.5.4.0 code. I do not have a release date.

I hope this helps.

Fantastic news! Hopefully, 10.5.4 will be released very soon.

Will the QinQ implementation be compliant to 802.1ad ?

Will the new version support QinQ tunneling through VXLAN?

Hello mffhg,

I won't know until it's released. You can check the release notes once it's published.

Aniss L,

It is common in networking to refer to this as "vlan tunneling" which was incorporated into the base 802.1Q standard. Which can be seen on page 1237 here, but is only mentioned. The reason being is that QinQ support is specific to the hardware, so more attention is paid on the hardware guides to its configuration. Would you clarify the switch model and I can verify if it is supported.

Let me know.

Hi Aniss

If you are looking for Q-in-Q function, on our Dell Smartfabric OS10. You should able to find configuration guide in section call "Vlan Stacking" Link. This feature is supported on S41XX, S52XX, MX in full switch mode (10.5.4.1).

Thanks

Yes, QinQ is now supported now.

To learn more, refer to the OS10 release 10.5.6 user guide, Page 710, under VLAN stacking – layer 3 use case.
