FX2 IO aggragator server-facing ports up/up but not passing traffic

Currently have an FX2 with a FN-2210S-IOM that we are trying to setup for operations.  We had tried to use stand alone mode, VLT mode and now full switch mode and each have the same symptoms - the server facing ports will show up/up but will not pass traffic.  The VMWare 'backplane' switch is configured as our others within our network.  We can see traffic leaving the ports but no input.  Is there another configuration that is needed to receive traffic from the servers with the 2210S'?
