Force10 E1200 Boot up error message
I am booting up a Force10 E1200 chassis and during the boot process I am getting spammed with the following error messages.
00:13:09: %RPM0-P:CP %DOWNLOAD-5-FINDTGTIMGFAIL: Can't find runtime image for lpe in slot 6.
00:13:09: %RPM0-P:CP %DOWNLOAD-5-FINDTGTIMGFAIL: Can't find runtime image for lpe in slot 0.

00:13:12: %RPM0-P:CP %DOWNLOAD-5-FINDTGTIMGFAIL: Can't find runtime image for lpe in slot 8.
00:13:13: %RPM0-P:CP %DOWNLOAD-5-FINDTGTIMGFAIL: Can't find runtime image for lpe in slot 6.
00:13:13: %RPM0-P:CP %DOWNLOAD-5-FINDTGTIMGFAIL: Can't find runtime image for lpe in slot 0.
00:13:14: %RPM0-P:CP %DOWNLOAD-5-FINDTGTIMGFAIL: Can't find runtime image for lpe in slot 10.
00:13:14: %RPM0-P:CP %DOWNLOAD-5-FINDTGTIMGFAIL: Can't find runtime image for lpe in slot 12.
The Cards that I have in those slots are the LC-ED-FE/GE-24T
any help on how to get past these error messaged would greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Michael

Hi,
If you are wanting to limit the messages during boot you can try using the boot messages command and it will display fewer messages during boot. https://www.force10networks.com/CSPortal20/KnowledgeBase/DOCUMENTATION/CLIConfig/FTOS/T_CLI_8.4.2.8_Oct-29-2012.pdf
Page 61
Is it working aside from these errors during boot?

Also the RPM that I am running is the LC-EF-RPM card. I would think that the ED linecard would work with this RPM because it is a newer RPM than the linecards.

When I finally get to a force10 prompt to run commands, The line cards that I have installed don't seem to be showing up when I do the show linecard all command. when I try to configure the linecards I am not seeing the type of linecard that I have listed. Do you know if these cards require a certain software to be installed onto the RPM to get the cards to show up?
I am guessing the lack of image for these linecards is why I am getting the spammed error message.

That line card requires FTOS 4.2.1.0 or higher. Updating the RPM software to the latest version may help to resolve any compatibility issues.

I read the same thing on the card install guide, The RPMs that I am using have FTOS 6.5.1.8 to FTOS 8.3.2 depending on what RPM card I have installed into the chassis. So I would think that the card should work.

If it doesn’t have the image for the linecard that would explain why it isn’t copying the image to it, but I am not sure why it wouldn’t have the image. Trying to update is probably the best option, you could try the linecard in a different slot, but I don’t think that is the issue.

Do you only have one line card installed? What is the output of show line all

I just have one RPM install and one linecard. The linecard never comes up I just get the following messages.
00:04:14: %RPM0-P:CP %DOWNLOAD-5-FINDTGTIMGFAIL: Can't find runtime image for lpe in slot 0. - repeated 16 times
00:05:08: %RPM0-P:CP %CHMGR-4-NOCHECKIN: No checkin from line card 0 within 4 minutes of card detection
00:05:08: %RPM0-P:CP %CHMGR-5-CARD_RETRY_RESET: line card 0 power-cycled to attempt bring-up
Here are the show commands for both cards
Force10#show linecard all

It looks like the card does not have the image for the E24TD linecard because when I try to add the card I do not get that cardtype as an option.Force10(conf)#linecard 0 ?E48PF 48-port GE line card with SFP optics (EF)

I was able to get the linecards working with the RPM using image FTOS-EF-6.2.1.5a.bin that happened to be on a spare compact flash that I had.

So I am wondering if in one of the later software revisions this card became unsupported.
