How many LAGs?

We have 3 data closets each with a 5548P. We have run into some piggy apps and need to add LAGs to eliminate the 1G bottle neck between closets. The question is how many LAGs do I need?

Does it go:

Closet 1 ------ LAG 1 on 2 ports ---- Closet 2 (2 Ports to LAG1, 2Ports to LAG2)  ----- LAG2 on 2 ports ----- Closet 3

Or is it

Closet ----- LAG1 on 2 Ports ----- Closet 2 (4 ports to LAG 1) ----- LAG1 on 2 Ports --------Closet 3

In case it matters, each switch will have a wifi AP with VLAN tagged traffic (each AP has multiple SSIDs each with its own VLAN tag) going to it. The VLANs will need to span switches so that each separate SSID can speak with its designated VLAN.

You will need to choose this option:

Closet 1 ------ LAG 1 on 2 ports ---- Closet 2 (2 Ports to LAG1, 2Ports to LAG2)  ----- LAG2 on 2 ports ----- Closet 3

It is best to have the same lane size/throughput from beginning to end.

Hope this helps,
