LAG and redundancy

Hi everybody,

i have two 5424 switches working as backbone, with two ports configured LAG/LACP and connected to each other.

Them i have some servers with  two eth ports configured in teaming and connected one to each switch .

What i need to do now is connect other two switches to the backbone. I'd like to configure two ports on each switch, in link aggregation, and to connect them one on a backbone switch and one on the other, to ensure redundancy. And, it would be great if in normal conditions both of theme were working, providing a 2GB link.

I'm not sure this thing can work.. i cannot run too many test since these switches are already up and running, i just have to modify the connections in the shortest time possible..

thanks for any help!

Marco

Hi,

Do your servers' network cards teamed and connected to both backbone switches? Is this working normally?

Concerning your question: you can't get both links running simultaneously, one of them will be blocked by STP.
