PowerConnect 6224 causing iSCSI to lose connection
I'm having my iSCSI attached servers losing their connection to the SAN after 4 - 6 hours. I have two 6224's. One dedicated to SPA and one dedicated to SPB. I do not need to use any of the advanced features of the 6224's. I basically plugged them in - right out of the box and had the disconnection issues. When I bypass the 6224's, and plug directly into my Storage Processors, the connections with stay up forever. What setting changes do I need to make for this to work reliably? Simple is good! I don't need to use these switches for anything other than connecting the iSCSI servers to the SAN on our tiny network.

If your 6224 is connected to "the internet" (that is, you can ping it from the Internet), you might try firewalling it.

The latest version of firmware (2.2.0.3) addresses iSCSI performance issues. Please try it and let the forum know if it addresses your issue. We had a similar issue and this firmware fixed it.
