PowerConnect 6248 - INET_ADDR:Invalid FamilyType - 0

We updated to version 3.3.4.1 and started seeing the following log message.

<190> OCT 13 10:21:23 192.168.2.1-1 UNKN[112660144]: l7utils_inet_addr.c(608) 110058 %% INET_ADDR:Invalid FamilyType - 0

We are not running any stack members.

What is causing this and how can we resolve this?

We may have a configuration issue and  need to look at the config of the switch.  Can you provide that along with the output from the show version and show boot-version.  The commands should reveal what version of firmware that you upgraded from that may shed light on what is happening.

console# show version

console# show boot-version

Did you follow the ReadMe PDF that accompanies the firmware download on the procedures to update the firmware.

After further research the message is nothing to be concerned about.  It does not prove to be any performance issue as a result of the message.  It is set to be addressed and resolved in the next firmware release.

Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.
