PowerConnect 7048 Static and Connected Route Behavior

Hello,

I am currently working on a migration project and need to manipulate the route table on our PowerConnect 7048 to force specific /32 host IPs through a different path on this L3 switch.

Currently we have a /24 route which is "directly connected" via the Vlan1 interface. I would like to configure a /32 route for an IP on this same /24 range through a different Vlan interface. Will this cause any issues or should the /32 static route be preferred over the /24 connected route?

sw-dell7048#show ip route
S 0.0.0.0/0 [1/0] via 192.168.20.5, Vl98
C 192.168.0.0/24 [0/1] directly connected, Vl1
C 192.168.20.0/24 [0/1] directly connected, Vl98

*New Static Route = 192.168.0.145/32 via Vlan 98

I validated this using Cisco routers but not sure if it would be similar behavior on a Dell PowerConnect 7048.

Thanks!

Hi,

Static will take priority over directly connected.
