Powerconnect 5548 VLAN Setup with Pfsense router and unifi AP
Hi all,
I have a pfSense firewall at home and a UNIFI AP-AC-LR with PowerConnect 5548.
In pfSense I created a VLAN 20 based on my LAN interface and created DHCP server for the VLAN interface and created the Firewall rule to go out to the internet.
In UNIFI controller, I created a VLAN Only network and set the VLAN 20. I then created a wireless network and in the advance option set ‘user VLAN’ with the VLAN 20.
In PC5548, I set port 10 to 'general', PVID 20 and vlan1(see screenshot)
I can connect to the wireless but I have no internet.
Can this be because my UNIFI controller is hosted in the cloud and not in the house or something wrong with my switch configuration?
Thank you
Thank you in advance

Hi,
Are you connecting the 5524 to the pfsense router wirelessly or are they physically connected?

Hi,
The pfSense is connected to port 37 on the 5548 and the AP on port 17 on the switch

Both ports are in general mode with a PVID of 20?

Hi,
The ports are in access mode.
Should I be setting it to general/trunk?
pfSense is giving multiple vlan so I am assuming I need to set that port to 'trunk' mode but not sure whart setting to create.
Thank you

Ideally ports that connect to client devices are access mode and trunk or general mode for other networking equipment.
