Powerconnect 7048 SNMP

Hi All,

I'm using the open source software cacti to monitor traffic through my 7048 switches using snmp.

Everything works fine if I monitor individual ports, but my switch is also acting as a layer 3 router and I would like to be able to monitor the overall traffic through each vlan.

Cacti identifies the vlan's as interfaces, but the traffic counters don't seem to be active.

Is this possible to do at all ?

Thanks.

I have looked for this OID before and was not able to find one. The MIBs are downloaded with the firmware.

If you have any luck finding it, let us know what it is.

Thanks

One place to look is the Q-Bridge MIB.  In the past I noticed that when other MIBs only pertained to physical interfaces, the Q-Bridge MIB was "VLAN aware", and allowed the user to create VLANs, assign ports, etc.  It may be that it also allows you to monitor VLAN traffic.  Might be worth a shot.
