S4128F OS10 port channel with server issue

Hi, we just deploy 2 set S4128F switch running vlt as ToR switch for dell server connect to it. Each server will have two cable to the S4128F with configure teaming in LACP mode. On the switch the port channel mode is set to active. The problem is running on LACP, the server will have intermittent packet drop issue when ping to gateway and also not able to ping the neighbor server and they change the server nic to active-standby then no packet drop issue. Today we did perform a testing. 1) when change the channel-group mode to active, can ping to gateway but packet drop. 2) when change the channel-group mode to active, can ping to gateway with no packet drop issue but not able to ping neighbor server. Also i realize when the port is down on 1 switch, the server able to ping gateway and neighbor switch with fine. after the port is up then problem re-occur. I issue the command "show int port-channel summary" on both switch, 1 of the switch port-channel uptime is refresh, another switch is port channel uptime still running. we will perform reboot switch on next testing since server team they have restart the server. The switch is running version with 10.3.1E. Anyone face the similar issue before?

Hello,

Do you have 4 cables connected, or 2? If each server has a connection to each switch, make sure that the port channels are set as VLT peer links. Also, you may want to look at applying the 10.4 update to the switches.

Hi,

Server 1 port channel to dell switch (2 physical link as a port channel)

Issue solved, root cause from VLT. 1 of the switch did not tag the vlan on the Po1000. Reboot and problem solve.

Thanks
