| SWITCH# sh fex 103 FEX: 103 Description: C02-AG15 state: Online FEX version: 7.0(2)N1(1) [Switch version: 7.0(2)N1(1)] Extender Serial: FOC1649R0EN Extender Model: N2K-B22DELL-P, Part No: 73-14668-02 Bay: A1 Enclosure: Dell M1000e Slot A1 Service Tag: 4****** Pinning-mode: static Max-links: 1 Fabric port for control traffic: Eth1/5 FCoE Admin: false FCoE Oper: true |

Hi Fred,
What are you wanting to change it to? That looks like an accurate location for the enclosure tag. I am not seeing a way to change the tag. I checked the nexus guides from Cisco but did not find a command to do it.

i search to change the "Enclosure description" this information is a TAG in the blade OA , but when I see the Fex information on my Nexus , i see always "DELL M1000".
For example with the HP Blade , i can change this TAG .
FEX: 111 Description: C01-BY07-HP state: Online
FEX version: 7.0(5)N1(1) [Switch version: 7.0(5)N1(1)]
FEX Interim version: 7.0(5)N1(1)
Switch Interim version: 7.0(5)N1(1)
Extender Serial: FOC***********
Extender Model: N2K-B22HP-P, Part No: 73-13780-05
Bay: 1
Rack: SS1-BY07-C01
Enclosure: SS1-BY07-C01
Rack Id: Default RUID
Card Id: 145, Mac Addr: fc:99:47:ad:2a:c2, Num Macs: 64
It is important for the administrators to make the relation beetween FEX and BLADE when your have one network team and one server team.

Try using our commandline utility into the CMC and using the command setchassisname
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=D0JCN&fileId=3364977248&osCode=WS8R2&productCode=poweredge-m620&languageCode=EN&categoryId=SM

Here is the reference guide for the cli commands, http://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/dell-cmc-v5.0-m1000e_Reference%20Guide_en-us.pdf
I am not seeing anything else in there that would change the fex location.
