Upgrading 6224 from v1 firmware

I recently acquired a couple of gently used PowerConnect 6224's. Currently they have firmware version 1.0.4.3 on them.

I would like to update them to the latest firmware. Unfortunately the documentation that comes in the latest firmware seems to make no accommodation for one being stuck on version 1. They only address updating from version 2 or an earlier version 3. So I'm not real sure how to go about upgrading.

Currently they won't even accept the TFTP upload of the latest firmware. They just throw a copy error. I suppose I could just install 2 and then 3. I can't seem to find the older firmware available for download though.

Any suggestions?

Use your favorite FTP client, log-in anonymously and go to:

ftp.powerconnect.dell.com

navigate to firmware

Download your flavor of firmware beginning with PowerConnect_6200_2203.zip  --  This is the firmware that Dell usually ships on the switches.  When you upgrade to 3.2.0.7-10, PLEASE make sure you FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS exactly.

Hope this helps.
