Why are there no configuration options in CLI for PowerConnect 2816?
I've just purchased a Dell PowerConnect 2816 and I'm connected using the serial cable (which is working fine). However, there appears to be no configuration options.
For example, under "interface ethernet g1", I type "?" and this is the what I see:
end Exit from configure mode
exit Exit from current context
help Description of the interactive help system console
(config-if)#
Shouldn't I have some actual configuration options?
Here's exactly what I'm doing to enter configuration mode:
enable
configure
interface ethernet g1
Thanks for any help...

Our PowerConnect 2800 series switches are designed to be "web-managed" switches with disabled CLI features which would be a feature of "fully managed" switches like our N-Series line.
So configuration can be done only via graphical web interface.
This also applies to their successors X-Series switches.
