access port and vlans
Hi,
On powerconnect 6248 if I make one port access port I can't make the same port tagged for other vlans too . Am i right?
For ex:
port: 2/g14 --> Accessport (untagged), vlan 101, vlan 102
Thanks
Paras.

Hi Paras,
That’s correct, access ports are only for a single untagged VLAN. If you want to be able to add other tagged VLANs you have to use a general port.
ethernet interface 2/g14
General switchport mode
switchport general pvid 1
switchport general allowed vlan add 101, 102

General ports have one untagged VLAN, the PVID and the rest of the VLANs are tagged. So it is both.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. So if I need a General port with pvid set, do I make that port tagged or untagged?
Thanks
Paras.
