can i install a 2nd X901C module on the 6248?

Hi,

We have a 6248 L3 switch and already have one X901c module (2-port 10gbase-t) installed on Bay 2.   My question is, since we are not stacking, can i install a second X901c module in Bay 1 or is this stricly reserved for a stacking module?

Hope to get a definite answer before we buy the second module.

Thanks!

Hello sunstar_cebu

The short answer is no. Here is a copy/paste from our internal documentation on the 10Gb module:

Only one 10GBase-T module is supported and it can only be used in slot-2 (bay-2) of the switch. This is due to the power consumption of the module. If the module is installed in slot-1 (bay-1) the Wrong Bay LED will turn on and the switch will not supply power to the module.

Thanks
