5 ghz for inspiron 15z 5523

I'd like to have 5 ghz capability on a 15z. Can anyone recommend a replacement wireless card? Will the Intel 6200 work as a replacement?

Hi LaurieShone,

Inspiron 15z 5523 is configured with one of the following wireless cards.

*DW1703 WiFi/Bluetooth 4.0 combo card.
*DW1704 WiFi/Bluetooth 4.0 combo card.
*DW1901 WiFi/Bluetooth 4.0 combo card.
*Intel 2230 WiFi/Bluetooth 4.0 combo card.

DW1901 WiFi/Bluetooth 4.0 combo card is a dual band card and can work at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Intel 6200 wireless card will not work as a replacement as it does not have Bluetooth integrated.

Please let me know if you need further information.

LaurieShone,

You'll need to check the wires on the wireless adapter. Some use 2 and some use 3. The Intel 6200 uses 2 wires, if memory serves me correctly and should work.
